Introduced in the year 2000-01 with an intake of 40 students. Telecommunication Department is an offshoot of Electronics & Communication Engineering Department with almost same curricula, with more emphasis on communication Procedures and Equipments.

Features

• Well qualified and dedicated faculty, with IIT & NIT background to impart training in Theoretical and Practical aspects.
• Curriculum includes advanced courses viz, VHDL, VLSI, Information Theory & Coding, Wireless Networks, High Performance Communication Networks etc.
• Department has well equipped Laboratories to meet the national standards. Sophisticated equipments such as Storage oscilloscopes Spectral analyzer etc are being procured.
• Teaching & Non-teaching faculty is sponsored to attend seminars/Conferences/Workshops/Refresher courses to update their knowledge and to offer the same thing to the students.
• The department has its own Departmental Library to facilitate the students to have the text books at their disposal throughout the semester.

• To bring out the hidden talents of the students, TESSA (Telecommunication Engineering Students and Staff Association) plans various activities such as Paper presentation, Technical article writing, Group Discussions, Debate & Elocution Competitions etc.
• Parents –Meet and Alumni-Meet are organized annually to have an interaction and sharing of experiences.
• Excellent opportunities for the outgoing students are provided through Placement Cell.
